The BL3SSED scorecard

How much is your first impression actually working?

Eight questions about the things that decide whether a good business looks like one. You get a score, the three areas costing you the most, and the one move worth making first.

Eight questions

About ninety seconds

No sales call attached

Answer honestly. Nobody is watching.

Each question has four answers. Pick the one that is closest to true today, not the one you would like to be true next quarter.

Positioning

Can someone say what you do, and who it is for, after five seconds on your homepage?

Yes. It is the first thing they read.
Roughly. They would get the category, not the difference.
Only if they already know us.
Honestly, no.

Difference

If a competitor copied your website copy, how much of it would still be true of them?

Almost none. It is specific to us.
About half.
Most of it.
All of it. It could belong to anyone.

Identity

Does the brand look like the same business across the site, socials, decks and print?

Yes. There is a system and it is followed.
Mostly, with a few loose ends.
It drifts depending on who made it.
There is no system to follow.

Website

When you send the site to someone you respect, how do you feel?

Proud. It represents the work well.
Fine, with a caveat or two.
I explain it before they open it.
I avoid sending it.

Proof

What does a serious prospect find when they look for evidence you can do this?

Case studies with context, decisions and outcomes.
A gallery of finished work.
A logo list and a few testimonials.
Very little.

Conversion

Is the next step obvious, and does it feel proportionate to the visitor?

Yes. One clear path, sized to where they are.
There is a contact page.
Several competing buttons.
They have to hunt for it.

Findability

Where does the business show up when someone searches for what you actually sell?

On the first page for the terms that matter.
Somewhere, for our own name.
Rarely, and we have not looked properly.
Nowhere.

Momentum

When was the site last changed on purpose, rather than out of necessity?

Within the last three months.
This year.
A year or two ago.
I cannot remember.

The three areas costing you the most

Send me the full breakdown and the one move worth making first.

The breakdown names the three areas costing you the most, why each one leaks trust, and what a sensible first step looks like for a business at your stage.

One email with your results. No sequence, and no list you have to escape from. By requesting your breakdown you provide your name, email, answers and score so BL3SSED can send the result and respond. This does not add you to marketing. See the Privacy Policy under Legal.

Where this usually goes next

A score is a starting point. The work is the point.

Most people who run the scorecard already knew which answer stung. The useful part is deciding what to do about it, in what order, and at what cost. That is the conversation worth having.
